BIG THREE (03) EVILS OF "HR"
IN CORPORATE INDUSTRY!
FIRST ONE:
Elite University Complex of the Owners/Senior Management
in hiring, Age Factor, Gender Bias (in favor of mostly females). All these
3 are severely violating Equal Opportunity Clause in Pakistan yet most HR is
turning a blind eye to it.
Take Elite Universities first—Grads of these
universities are forming groups within the companies and if you are not from
their 1 tier University, no matter if you are as talented as Einstein they will
not select you for key positions (although they might interviews just to show
they are fair).
SECOND ONE:
SECOND EVIL is the ‘ AGE DISCRIMINATION’. We all see such ads. every other day “requires
manager age between 25-35”? Have you stopped to wonder what that entails? It
simply means no matter how physically fit, academically excellent or vibrantly
experienced you are in your field you are considered most unfit for this
particular job since you are now 36 year young or more. Amazingly very qualified
professionals having MBA (HRM) are committing this folly every other day while
writing ads and don’t feel remorse in violating EEO. This is also contributing
to unemployment.
THIRD ONE:
THIRD EVIL is the "GENDER DISCRIMINATION".
You will come across ads like “Women are preferred” “Females
are strongly encouraged to apply” but never "Men are encouraged to apply”
instead of simply Equal Opportunity Employer.
In most of the cases the revruiters
are not looking to balance out the two sexes in the company but trying to
secure a good looking, figure 36/24/36 girl to please the clients or attract
them to spend money on buying their product. This is actually disgusting for not
only decent girls but also to men who are sitting home and finding it hard to
secure any job now.
